Thermal Not So Obvious
Submitted by RobertManley on Thu, 10/28/2010 - 18:08.Resently it was brought to my attention that some of my "competition" is telling people that Thermal Infrared only sees the obvious when performing a home inspection. WHAT? Since when do any of these "inspectors" have thermal sensing eyes. Were they born with them? NOT! I have hundreds of examples of things such as missing insulation, overheated wiring (not showing any melting or discoloration yet), water damage behind ceilings and walls (not visible on any exterior), and insect infestation in behind a wall (maybe they can smell bugs too!). To mislead the public that they can accomplish the same results just with their eyes is a JOKE!. Be careful of those inspectors that feel it only sees the "obvious", because they are obviously not willing to invest in technology or give you the very best inspection possible. Challenge them! Ask them if I come in and find missing insulation or hidden water damage after they inspect the house, will they put in writing that they will pay for the repairs since they missed the "obvious". Some inspectors will say anything and deny everything if they think it will get them the job. To deny a technology that has obvious benefits (so much the military, border patrol and top companies use it), but then again why? should'nt they all be able to just see the "obvious"...!
